Winter Scout Program

Horsemanship apprenticeship program

This program will be available from Jan 2017 until May 2017. This program will cover the same materials as our summer program but scouts will receive more individualized attention and may be able to experience more around the farm. During the weekend scouts (2-5) will work with our Barn manager and Eagle Scout Eddie Landry to learn the daily operations of the farm, how to work around horses, and riding horses. The program will run from 8am until 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. No camping will be available, Scouts will be responsible to bring their own lunch and snacks. The cost per scout will be $55, and 2 adult leaders will need to be on site during the program.  To schedule a weekend email Eddie Landry at windingcreekesc@gmail.com

Our Horses

The horses that are being used for the program are seasoned show and ranch horses. Each scout will receive one-on-one attention while riding. During each riding lesson scouts will learn how to ride the horse and steer them around obstacles as if they were on the open range herding cattle.
